Greenwood County Parks & Recreation Pay: $13.82 per hour | Part-Time | SCRS Retirement
Do you enjoy working with people, being outdoors, and helping create a positive experience for your community? Greenwood County Parks & Recreation is looking for a dependable and energetic Part-Time Parks & Recreation Helper to join our team!
This is a hands-on position with a variety of responsibilities. One day you may be helping oversee a youth sports game, and another day you may be assisting with keeping our parks and facilities clean and ready for the community.
What You'll Do
Help manage and monitor recreational activities, practices, games, tournaments, and other events.
Assist coaches and officials to help activities run smoothly and safely.
Supervise activities at County fields and gyms.
Open and close recreational facilities, including some weekend responsibilities.
Assist with park maintenance, including cutting grass, collecting trash, and janitorial services.
Help with crowd control, traffic management, facility setup, and customer service.
Enforce rules, record scores, and assist visitors as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and one year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. No special certifications or licenses are required.
This position involves walking and standing for much of the workday and may require working outdoors in hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions.
